After the new bathroom floor, I decided to repaint the walls. Before we had dark gray walls and with the darker floor now they just seemed super dark. Lighter we go.
The walls went from this…
To this…
You can see more of a difference here…
As I look at the paint samples now, I actually realize what a huge risk taker I am not. The truth is I like the gray in the room just not the dark heaviness of the old one. The colors really do look much different in person. It just seems lighter and not-so-moody gray. Before it looked like thunder is here and now it’s there might be a storm coming cloudy. Here are pictures of the space.
Old color on the walls…
New color on the walls…
I even went wild and painted the ceiling…
Ignore the trim. John came home and painted it after work. He is the trim master. He rocks it without any tape. I guess his patience of steel plays into it. Mama wants to get it done, hence the gray on white trim in the above picture.
All in all, it looks so much brighter on the day-to-day. Now we just need a new shower curtain, rugs and that pesky corner cabinet for some storage. I’m leaning towards jumping on the yellow-gray train, but trying to decide if the trend is a little too trendy. Hmm… Indecision is my middle name, didn’t you know? I do love how the colors jive with one another.
I’m digging these images (from Pinterest) so hard…
I’ll let you know what I decide when I decide it…sometime next year. Ha.

Can I please have that yellow barn door? WANT!
I mean really. I have been trying to figure out a way to work a barn door in over here. There’s just no space. I guess I’ll have to wait for my house in the country.
